Calculate your price to Brussels South Charleroi Airport
Brussels South Charleroi Airport is the home of the low-cost airlines, which makes it popular with students, young families and anyone booking a city break on a budget. From Leuven, Tienen or Aarschot, though, getting there by public transport is quite an undertaking: a train to Brussels or Charleroi, then a bus, all with your luggage, and often at an hour when the first trains are not yet running.
With GateRide you simply get in at home, whether that is a student room in Leuven, a terraced house in Kessel-Lo or a farmhouse in Glabbeek. Your driver takes you in one go to the departures hall in Gosselies. The price is fixed in advance for your town: no pickup surcharge, no meter and nothing extra for your suitcase.

The route: across the language border to Gosselies
From Leuven your driver usually chooses between two routes. The first follows the N25 across the Brabant plateau to Wavre, then continues towards Nivelles or onto the E411 and E42, to the airport just north of Charleroi. The second takes the Brussels Ring and the A54 via Nivelles. Which is faster depends on the time of day and the traffic around Brussels.
If you live in Tienen, Landen or the southern Hageland, the N29 via Jodoigne and Gembloux to the E42 can be a smart alternative. From Diest or Aarschot the ride starts with a stretch towards Leuven. For you it makes no difference: your fixed price does not depend on the route.
Timing and the journey home
Plan to be at Charleroi two to three hours before departure. Low-cost airlines are strict about gate closing times, and the terminal is often busy early in the morning. If you are leaving on a weekday during the rush hour, expect more traffic around Wavre and on the Ring. Remember that you choose your pickup time, not your flight time.
On the way back your driver waits at the exit of the arrivals hall, next to the taxi rank. Add your flight number and choose a pickup time around 45 minutes after landing for a Schengen flight, or an hour for flights from outside Schengen. If you are delayed, send a WhatsApp message or call: your driver does not track your flight automatically.
