Calculate your price to Brussels Airport

For most people in Antwerp, Brussels Airport is the obvious choice. It is close enough not to think twice about, yet far enough away to cost you half a morning on a bad day. The E19 between Antwerp and Brussels is one of the busiest motorways in the country, and anyone who has sat at a standstill near Kontich or Mechelen-Noord with a packed suitcase knows how quickly a flight can start to feel tight.

With GateRide, that is no longer your problem. Your driver comes to you, whether you live in a terraced house in Borgerhout, a flat on the Scheldt quays or a villa in Schilde. Your luggage goes in the boot, you get in, and the price you saw in advance is the price you pay, in cash. No pickup surcharge, no meter and no airport parking to pay for.

Fixed price per ride, not per person. VAT, luggage and pickup waiting time included. The calculator shows the exact price for your town. Drive times are estimates in free-flowing traffic, rounded to 5 minutes.

The route: the Ring, the E19 and a short stretch of R0

From the city your driver takes the Antwerp Ring (R1) to the E19 towards Brussels. If you live on the Left Bank or in Zwijndrecht, the ride starts through the Kennedy Tunnel. From Schilde, Ranst or Wijnegem, joining the motorway at the Ranst interchange is sometimes easier. Past Kontich and Mechelen the motorway continues to Machelen, where a short stretch of the Brussels Ring (R0) brings you to the airport.

If the E19 is at a standstill, your driver takes an alternative route where possible, such as the A12 via Boom. Either way, your price stays exactly the same.

Timing: the morning rush towards Brussels

Most delays on this route happen between 7 and 10 a.m., when half of Antwerp is heading for Brussels. For an early flight that is not a problem: if you leave in the middle of the night, the roads are usually clear. For a flight around midday, though, your departure falls right in the rush hour, so it is wise to build in extra time. Roadworks around the Antwerp Ring can also spring surprises.

Plan to be at Brussels Airport two to three hours before departure. You choose your own pickup time; the owner reviews your request personally and confirms it by email.

Back to Antwerp: meeting in the arrivals hall

For the return trip your driver waits for you in the arrivals hall on level 0, by the information desk, with a GateRide sign. Choose a pickup time about 45 minutes after landing for a Schengen flight, or an hour if you are arriving from outside Schengen. Waiting time is included in the price.

If you land on a weekday in the late afternoon, you will hit the evening rush on the E19 towards Antwerp. That makes no difference to what you pay. If your flight is delayed, let your driver know by phone or WhatsApp, as flights are not tracked automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Antwerp – Brussels Airport

Isn’t the train from Antwerp simpler?

If you live near a station and travel light, it can be. But getting to the station with suitcases, taking the train and perhaps changing soon becomes a hassle at night or with children. With a door-to-door pickup you get in at your own front door and step out in front of the departures hall.

Do you also cover the Left Bank and Zwijndrecht?

Yes. The Left Bank is part of the city of Antwerp, and Zwijndrecht, Burcht and the other towns around the city also have a fixed price to Brussels Airport. You will see it straight away in the price calculator.

I live in a city-centre flat. Where can the driver stop?

Feel free to suggest a convenient pickup point in your request, such as the corner of your street or a spot where a car can stop briefly. In narrow streets or on the quays, that makes loading your luggage much easier.

Prefer to call or send a message?

For custom rides, large groups or questions: you’ll talk to the driver directly.
