Taxi from Bruges and the coast to Brussels Airport (Zaventem)

The backbone of the journey is the E40, from Jabbeke past Bruges, Ghent and Aalst to Brussels, after which your driver takes the Ring (R0) past Vilvoorde to the airport. From De Panne, Koksijde, Nieuwpoort or Veurne, the first leg is the A18 to Jabbeke; from Ostend it is the A10. From Knokke-Heist, Blankenberge or De Haan, your driver heads inland to Bruges and joins the E40 there.

The well-known bottlenecks are the E17 interchange near Ghent and the final stretch before Brussels. In summer, busy coastal roads add to the mix, especially on Saturdays in high season.

It is a long drive, so work backwards carefully. Plan to be at Brussels Airport two to three hours before departure, add the travel time shown in the price table and allow extra margin if you are heading towards Brussels on a weekday morning. For the first flights of the day you leave in the middle of the night, when the E40 is quiet and you can catch up on sleep along the way.

On your return, your driver waits in the arrivals hall on level 0 by the information desk, holding a GateRide sign. Add your flight number and report any delay by phone or WhatsApp. Landing late in the evening? No need to worry about the last train to the coast: you are driven right to your door.
