Calculate your price to Amsterdam Schiphol

For many people in Antwerp, Schiphol is the gateway to the rest of the world. If you are flying to North America, Asia or another far-flung destination, you will often find more direct connections there than at Brussels Airport, or a better fare for the same trip. The catch is getting there. It is a long way, and with big suitcases and an overnight flight ahead, the last thing you want is to haul everything by tram to Antwerp Central for the train, or to leave your car in a Dutch car park for weeks.

With GateRide you get in at your own front door, whether you live in Het Kiel, Berchem, on the Left Bank or in Kapellen. Your driver loads your luggage and drives straight through to Amsterdam. The price is fixed per town and direction: no pickup surcharge, no meter and nothing extra when traffic backs up at the Moerdijk bridge or around Rotterdam. You pay in cash on the day.

Fixed price per ride, not per person. VAT, luggage and pickup waiting time included. The calculator shows the exact price for your town. Drive times are estimates in free-flowing traffic, rounded to 5 minutes.

The route: E19, A16 and the Randstad

From the right bank your driver takes the Ring and then the E19 north, past Brasschaat and Kalmthout to the border at Meer. Living on the Left Bank (Linkeroever) or in Zwijndrecht? Then the ride starts with the Kennedy Tunnel. Across the border the E19 becomes the Dutch A16, which runs past Breda, over the Moerdijk bridge and around Rotterdam, before the A4 takes you past Delft and Leiden to Schiphol.

For you, there is nothing to do along the way. You stay in your seat, your luggage stays in the boot, and there are no connections to catch or parking tickets to sort out.

Timing: allow for the Rotterdam rush hour

For an intercontinental flight you want to reach the departures hall with time to spare. Plan on two to three hours before departure, and lean towards the upper end for long-haul trips. On this route the main unknown is not Antwerp but Rotterdam, where the morning and evening rush hours quickly cause tailbacks.

If you leave very early in the morning, you are usually through those bottlenecks before the traffic builds. If you fly in the afternoon or evening, choose a pickup time that keeps you clear of the Dutch evening rush. You choose the time yourself, and the owner reviews your request personally before confirming it.

The return trip from Schiphol

After a long flight, it is good to know someone is waiting for you. Your driver meets you at Schiphol Plaza by the ‘Meeting Point’ sign. Add your flight number when you book and choose a pickup time about an hour after landing if you are arriving from outside Schengen, as passport control and baggage reclaim take time. Within Schengen, around 45 minutes is usually enough.

Waiting time is included in the price. If your flight is delayed, just let your driver know by phone or WhatsApp, as flights are not tracked automatically. Once your outward trip is booked, ‘Book return trip’ lets you book the way back in a few clicks.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Antwerp – Amsterdam Schiphol

Why fly from Schiphol when Brussels Airport is closer?

Usually because Schiphol has more direct long-haul flights, or because your ticket is cheaper there. The drive is longer, but the price is fixed in advance, so you can compare it fairly with parking or the train. The price table shows straight away what the ride costs from your town.

Do I need to arrange anything for the border?

Not for the ride itself: you simply drive on from Belgium into the Netherlands. For your flight, of course, bring your passport or ID card, plus any travel documents required for long-haul destinations.

Does the price stay the same if there is traffic around Rotterdam?

Yes. Traffic jams, roadworks or a diversion make no difference to the fixed price. Luggage and waiting time for a pickup at Schiphol are included too. You pay your driver in cash on the day of the ride.

Can I also travel from Schoten, Wijnegem or Edegem?

Of course. Every town around Antwerp has its own fixed price to Schiphol, in both directions. Enter your town in the price calculator to see exactly what you pay, with no extra charge for the drive to you.
