The Vlaamse Rand, or Flemish Periphery, is the green belt around Brussels, and for many residents the airport is quite literally round the corner. In Kraainem, Machelen or Steenokkerzeel you can hear the planes passing overhead. Yet a short distance does not always mean a quick trip: the Brussels Ring is one of the busiest roads in the country, airport parking is expensive and nobody enjoys asking the neighbours for a lift at five in the morning.

The area is also home to many international families working for the EU institutions, NATO, an embassy or one of the many international companies around Zaventem and Diegem. For them – and for everyone else who lives here – your own driver at a fixed price is simply convenient. You book in advance, see the fare straight away and pay cash on the day. No meter, no pickup surcharge, no extra charge when the Ring is jammed.

Brussels Airport next door, and further afield

From Zaventem, Machelen, Kraainem and Wezembeek-Oppem, Brussels Airport is often a very short ride. From Vilvoorde, Grimbergen and Wemmel, your driver usually takes the northern Ring, where the Vilvoorde viaduct is a well-known bottleneck at rush hour. From Dilbeek, Asse, Halle or Beersel, the route runs via the western or southern Ring, where good planning matters even more.

Flying low-cost from Charleroi? That makes particular sense from Halle, Beersel and the southern edge of the region. For long-haul flights, some families prefer Schiphol or Düsseldorf. Eindhoven, Cologne Bonn and Liège are possible too. The price table shows the fixed fare from your town to each airport.

For expats and international families

Just arrived in Belgium, or heading home for a long summer? You probably have plenty of luggage, children in tow and little desire to queue at a taxi rank. Child seats (baby seat, child seat or booster seat) are free of charge, subject to availability; just select them when you book. Special luggage such as a bike, golf bag or wheelchair, as well as pets, can be carried by prior arrangement. Assistance dogs are always welcome.

The website is available in English, French and Dutch. Every ride is driven by the owner himself: your request is reviewed personally and confirmed by email, and on your return your driver waits for you in the arrivals hall. A receipt in the name of your employer or company is available on request – handy for expense claims.
