From Mechelen, Bonheiden and Duffel, your driver usually takes the E19 towards Brussels and joins the Ring near Machelen. It is a short ride, but the Vilvoorde viaduct and rush-hour traffic into Brussels can be unpredictable, so a margin is always built in. From Klein-Brabant – Bornem, Puurs-Sint-Amands or Willebroek – the route tends to run via the A12 and the south of the Rupel area.

Flying low-cost from Charleroi? Then the ride follows the Brussels Ring southwards. And with Antwerp just up the road, Amsterdam Schiphol via the E19 heading north is an option too. From Lier, the Ranst interchange and the E34 get you quickly towards Eindhoven. Mechelen station has good rail links to the airport, and if you travel light that works fine. But if you live in Putte, Bornem or Boom, you first have to get to the station. At four in the morning, with suitcases and children, that is a different story. A door-to-departures ride spares you all that, and on the way home you will not be left waiting on a platform at midnight.
