Brussels is a city of terraced townhouses, apartment blocks and narrow streets where a free parking space is a rare sight. Dragging two big suitcases down to the metro, changing at Brussels-North or hoping a taxi happens to pass at five in the morning is hardly the ideal start to a trip. And many city residents have no car, or would rather not leave it in an airport car park for days on end.

With GateRide, you book your ride in advance at a fixed price for your municipality. Your driver comes to you, helps with the luggage and takes you straight to the departures hall. If the Leopold II tunnel is jammed or the Brussels Ring grinds to a halt, what you pay stays the same: no meter, no pickup surcharge, no extra charge for suitcases. You pay in cash on the day.

From Brussels to Zaventem, Charleroi and neighbouring countries

Brussels Airport (Zaventem) sits just outside the Brussels-Capital Region and is the obvious choice for most residents. From the centre and the eastern municipalities, the route usually runs via Boulevard Reyers and the E40; from the north, via the Ring or the A12. Even so, traffic can crawl in the morning rush, so it is worth building some margin into your pickup time.

Flying with a low-cost airline? You may well be departing from Brussels South Charleroi Airport. That is a noticeably longer drive, via the Ring and the motorway towards Nivelles and Charleroi, but there is nothing for you to arrange: your driver drops you at the terminal. Liège, Eindhoven, Schiphol, Düsseldorf and Cologne Bonn are possible as well. The price table on this page shows the fixed fare from your municipality to each airport.

Bilingual, international and personal

Brussels is home to EU officials, diplomats, NATO and embassy staff, students and families who have lived in Schaerbeek or Molenbeek for generations. GateRide works in English, French and Dutch, so you can book in whichever language suits you best, and your confirmation email arrives in that language too. Just moved here and not sure which municipality you live in? Your postcode is all the calculator needs.

Every ride is driven by the owner himself. Your request is reviewed personally and only confirmed when the schedule genuinely works. Need a receipt in the name of your employer or company for your expense claim? Just ask.

Frequently asked questions

Airport transfers in Brussels

Do you cover all 19 Brussels municipalities?

Yes. From the City of Brussels to Watermael-Boitsfort and from Ganshoren to Auderghem, every municipality has a fixed price per airport. Enter your municipality or postcode in the calculator to see your fare straight away.

Is an airport taxi from Brussels more expensive at rush hour?

No. The price is fixed in advance and stays the same, even if traffic on the Ring or in the tunnels is at a standstill. Your driver allows for the traffic when planning the ride.

I don’t speak Dutch or French. Is that a problem?

Not at all. The website, the confirmation email and contact with your driver all work in English, as well as in Dutch and French.

I live on the fifth floor without a lift. What about my luggage?

Mention it in your request. Your driver rings the bell at the agreed time; it helps if your suitcases are already waiting downstairs in the hallway so you can leave right away.

When should I leave for a flight from Brussels Airport?

You choose your own pickup time. Plan to be at the airport two to three hours before departure, add the travel time from the price table and keep some extra margin during the morning rush.

Prefer to call or send a message?

For custom rides, large groups or questions: you’ll talk to the driver directly.
