Book your ride to Amsterdam Schiphol

Amsterdam Schiphol is one of Europe’s largest airports and the home of KLM. For travellers in Belgium it is especially useful for intercontinental flights, for destinations not served directly from Brussels, or simply for a better fare. It is a long drive, though: the Dutch motorways around Rotterdam and The Hague are regularly jammed, and after a long overnight flight the last thing you want is to drive all that way yourself.

With GateRide you do not have to think about any of that. Your driver, the owner himself, picks you up at home, loads your suitcases and takes you to the departures hall. The price for your town is fixed in advance: the drive to you, luggage, any traffic delays and VAT are all included. No pickup surcharge, no meter. You pay in cash on the day.

The drive to Schiphol: plan generously

From Belgium the route usually follows the E19 past Antwerp and Breda, over the Moerdijk bridge to Rotterdam and then along the A4 past The Hague and Leiden to Schiphol. From Ghent and West Flanders you first head to Antwerp on the E17 or E34; from Brussels and Wallonia you take the E19 via Mechelen. It is a long journey, and the Rotterdam ring road is notorious at rush hour.

So choose a generous pickup time. For an intercontinental flight, aim to be at Schiphol about three hours before departure; for a European flight, at least two. Add the travel time from the price table and allow a buffer if your journey coincides with the Dutch morning or evening rush. Night-time departures are often the smoothest.

Drop-off at departures

Schiphol is one large terminal with several departure halls. Your driver drops you as close as possible to the entrance that best suits your airline, so you can go straight to check-in. If your ticket says where to check in, feel free to mention it in your request. A baby seat, child seat or booster seat is free while available.

After landing: pickup at Schiphol

Book a ride ‘From the airport’, enter your flight number and choose the pickup time. If you are arriving from outside the Schengen area, as with most long-haul flights, allow about an hour after landing, as you still need to clear passport control and collect your bags. Within Schengen, about 45 minutes is enough. Free waiting time is included.

Your driver does not track your flight automatically. If your flight is delayed or you miss a connection on the way, send him a WhatsApp message or call as soon as you can, and the pickup time will be adjusted.

Taxi, train or parking?

There is a direct train from Brussels and Antwerp to Schiphol, and if you live right next to one of those stations it is an option. But with two large suitcases, children or an early flight it soon becomes an expedition, especially if you first have to get to the station. Driving yourself means paying for parking in the Netherlands for your whole trip, then driving home tired after a night flight.

With a fixed door-to-door price you know exactly where you stand. Travellers from all over Flanders, Brussels and even Wallonia ride to Schiphol with GateRide; from Antwerp and the Kempen it is the shortest drive. Your driver operates throughout Belgium and comes to you.

Good to know

Questions about your ride to Amsterdam Schiphol

How far in advance should I leave for Schiphol?

You choose the pickup time yourself. Add the travel time from the price table to the two to three hours you need at the airport before departure, and allow extra time if you will be driving through rush hour around Antwerp or Rotterdam.

Are traffic jams and tolls included in the price?

Yes. The fixed price does not change with traffic or tolls, and it also covers the drive to you, luggage, waiting time on pickups and VAT.

What if my flight into Schiphol is hours late?

Let your driver know as soon as possible by phone or WhatsApp. He does not track flights automatically; once you have sent a message, the pickup time is adjusted by mutual agreement.

How do I pay for the Schiphol taxi?

In cash, to your driver, on the day of the ride. There is no deposit and no online payment. A receipt is available on request, in your company’s name if needed, which is handy for business travel.

Can I book the outbound and return rides together?

Yes. After your request, choose ‘Book return trip’: your details are already filled in, so you only need to add the date, time and number of your return flight.

Prefer to call or send a message?

For custom rides, large groups or questions: you’ll talk to the driver directly.
