Book your ride to Liège Airport

Liège Airport in Bierset, in the municipality of Grâce-Hollogne just west of Liège, is best known as one of Europe’s major cargo airports. It also offers holiday flights to sunny destinations, and for people in the east of the country it is an attractive alternative to Brussels Airport: smaller, calmer and often closer. The downside is that Bierset is not the easiest place to reach by public transport, especially with suitcases and a departure at the crack of dawn.

With GateRide you simply get in the car at your front door. Your driver, the owner himself, loads your luggage and takes you straight to the departures hall. The price for your town is fixed in advance: the drive to you, luggage and VAT are included. No pickup surcharge, no meter, no extra charge when the E40 or E313 is busy. You pay in cash on the day.

Via the E40, E313 or E42 to Bierset

The airport is close to the Loncin interchange, where the main motorways around Liège meet, so it is easy to reach. From Hasselt and central Limburg your driver takes the E313; from Leuven, Tienen, Landen and Sint-Truiden, the E40; from Namur or Verviers, the E42. From Tongeren and Bilzen the route often heads straight south towards Liège.

Traffic around Liège can be heavier during the morning rush, but compared with the Brussels Ring the drive is usually relaxed. The same rule still applies: choose a pickup time that gets you to the airport two to three hours before departure, allowing for the travel time shown in the price table.

Drop-off and pickup at a small terminal

The passenger terminal at Bierset is small and easy to find your way around. Your driver drops you at the entrance and within a few steps you are at check-in. In peak season, however, several holiday flights leave in quick succession, so don’t cut it fine.

For the way back, book a ride ‘From the airport’ with your flight number. Choose a pickup time about 45 minutes after landing for a Schengen flight, or about an hour if you are arriving from outside Schengen, for example from Turkey, Egypt or Morocco. Free waiting time is included. Your driver does not track your flight automatically, so if it is delayed, send him a WhatsApp message or give him a call.

Why take a taxi to Liège Airport?

Holiday flights often leave very early or land late in the evening. A train to Liège-Guillemins still leaves you short of the airport, and leaving your car in a car park for a week or two costs money too. With a fixed door-to-door price you know exactly what you will pay, and you do not have to drive after landing. Travelling as a family? Baby seats, child seats and booster seats are free while available, and the price is per ride, not per person.

Who is Liège the obvious choice for?

Liège Airport suits travellers from Limburg (Hasselt, Genk, Sint-Truiden, Tongeren), from the Liège and Verviers area, and from eastern Flemish Brabant around Tienen and Landen. From Namur, Huy or Waremme it is a quick drive too. Found a trip departing from Bierset but live further away? No problem: your driver operates throughout Belgium and comes to you.
